Summary

The Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) has added to the ZDHC MRSL Candidate List to all PFCs used as water repellent, stain repellent and it's looking for additional relevant information on possible alternatives.

The ZDHC Foundation oversees implementation of the Roadmap to Zero Programme and is a global multi-stakeholder initiative of currently 162 contributors (30 brands, 111 value chain affiliates, and 21 associates) within the fashion and footwear industry.


Description

The Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals Foundation (ZDHC) has added to the ZDHC MRSL Candidate List to all PFCs used as water repellent, stain repellent and in certain cases to improve the colour fastness properties. The purpose of this request is to gather additional relevant information on possible alternatives for the mentioned uses. 

The ZDHC Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (ZDHC MRSL) is a list of chemical substances banned from intentional use in facilities processing textile materials, leather, rubber, foam, adhesives and trim parts in textiles, apparel, and footwear.
