POLYSORB® - highest purity isosorbide

Summary

POLYSORB® isosorbide is a non-toxic bio-based molecule made from sorbitol. Thanks to its particular rigid structure, POLYSORB® isosorbide enhances the properties of polymers, such as polycarbonate, polyester and polyurethane. When using POLYSORB® isosorbide the polymers become more resistant to temperature and have better mechanical and optical properties. Suitable for food contact packaging, heat resistant packaging and technical polymers.

Description

POLYSORB® isosorbide is used either directly as a very pure monomer or in the form of a derivative (functionalized monomer or plasticizer), POLYSORB® isosorbide offers valuable solutions to performance materials markets: polyesters, polycarbonates, PVC, composites and coatings, polyurethanes, TPU, etc.

Key benefits:

  • Non-toxic and bio-based molecule
  • Free from BPA and phthalates
  • Chemical and UV resistance
  • High impact polymer
  • Good surface hardness
  • Optical properties
  • Heat resistance

Possible replacement to

BPA (Bisphenol A) in PC (Polycarbonates).
