Mylo - Leather from mycelium

Summary

Leather from mycelium.

Description

MyloTM developed from mycelium cells by engineering it to assemble into a supple yet durable material that has the potential to biodegrade and can replace real and synthetic leather. Mycelium is grown on renewable, organic matter, nourishing the cells in the way that nature intended. Then the mycelium mat is harvested and processed it with dyes and inputs that meet the preferred chemistry requirements, for example, no usage of chromium-based tanning agents. Then, it is imprinted with a pattern, which gives the final material.

Possible replacement to

Cr VI in leather tanning.
